Flavors, scents and knowledge from a land we love

An agriculture rooted in respect

At Il Viaggio, we believe that the land should be cultivated with respect, care and long-term vision. Our agricultural approach is grounded in a concrete commitment to sustainability: we farm organically, select crops that require minimal water, and practice crop rotation to preserve soil health and fertility.

Barley, chickpeas and seasonal rotation

We grow barley and other crops, rotating them season after season to maintain the natural balance of the soil. Chickpeas, on the other hand, are a constant presence — an ancient, resilient crop, perfectly suited to our hills.

The return of olive trees to the Piacenza hills

We have also chosen to revive olive cultivation, planting over 200 Ascolana olive trees. A gesture that enhances a sustainable resource and brings back to life an agricultural tradition once deeply rooted in these hills.

Water: a resource to protect

Irrigation is managed using water drawn from two wells and rainwater collection tanks, with a total capacity of 6 cubic meters. A virtuous system that allows us to cultivate efficiently and responsibly.

Clean energy for sustainable agriculture

Environmental protection is at the heart of our project.

The entire property is powered exclusively by electricity, partly self-produced through three photovoltaic systems with a total capacity of 47 kW and 60 kW of storage. We do not use gas, significantly reducing the environmental impact of our activities.
