Hello everyone, we are Alberto and Ornella, and we would like to briefly share our story with you.

We are passionate travelers. We have always been drawn to distant and unconventional destinations — places that bring us into contact with people, cultures and ways of life very different from our own, often marked by poverty and challenging living conditions.
Each journey has left us with profound lessons. Experiencing these realities firsthand, rich in human value, has broadened our perspective and deeply enriched us.

In 2019, returning from the Danakil Depression, we made a decision: to create a project that could give back part of the human richness we had received during our travels. In an increasingly competitive world, we believe that true development can only exist if we move forward together.
We considered moving abroad — to India or Africa — but ultimately chose to stay in Italy, in the places where we come from, convinced that something meaningful could be built here as well.

On March 30th, 2024, Il Viaggio was born: a non-profit social enterprise with the mission of creating job opportunities for vulnerable people, helping them regain independence, dignity and a new start.

The entire project was developed without external funding, relying solely on our personal resources, generated from the businesses we have built and grown throughout our professional lives.

All the properties within the complex will be transferred into a foundation. The social enterprise — which already manages the entire property and land — will be responsible for preserving and carrying forward its mission over time.

While our social purpose is central, our hope is that you choose Il Viaggio for the beauty of its setting, the quality of its offering, and the atmosphere of serenity, respect and inclusiveness that defines it.
